San Francisco's modern long-haul airline. All A350 fleet.
Actually comfortable seats. Novel concept, we know.
Every seat on a modern A350-900. No lottery on aircraft type. No 'equipment change' surprises. Just the quietest, most comfortable widebody in the sky.
We measured seat pitch in inches, not euphemisms. Business lies flat. Premium Economy has legroom. Economy won't require physiotherapy.
Zero IT failures. Zero booking system crashes. Zero data breaches. Our secret? We'll tell you later.
From our San Francisco hub to the world. Eventually.

Honest
It's a plane. We won't pretend otherwise.
We're not going to call it "spacious" or "elevated." It's economy. But it's economy done properly.
Details that make 11 hours feel like... well, still 11 hours. But better.
Our IFE system isn't called "StudioZ" or "AirVision" or whatever airline-branded nonsense. It's called Currents.
Curated films (not just what's cheapest to license), destination guides written by actual writers, and Jet Lag Radio - playlists designed for each destination's timezone.
Free messaging for everyone. Streaming-speed Wi-Fi for Zephyr Suite and Jetstream members. Priced reasonably for everyone else.
We won't pretend it's "complimentary" while charging $30.
Business: Multi-course restaurant dining, sommelier-selected wines
Premium: Elevated comfort food, premium beverages included
Economy: Complimentary meals that acknowledge food should taste good
No one has ever said "I loved that airline's turkey sandwich." We're trying to change that.
A social space at Door 2 for Suite passengers who prefer a drink at the bar to drinking alone at their seat.
Novel concept: talking to other humans while traveling.
Our loyalty program. Because your loyalty should be rewarded with more than another credit card offer.
The gentlest wind. Everyone starts somewhere.

Zero IT Failures. Ever.
Let's talk about our systems.
Our booking engine has never crashed during a fare sale.
Our website has never experienced an "unexpected outage" at 5am when you're trying to check in.
Our app has never lost your reservation, corrupted your frequent flyer number, or mysteriously downgraded your seat.
Our customer data has never been breached, leaked, or "temporarily accessed by unauthorized parties."
How do we maintain such unprecedented reliability?
[dramatic pause]
We don't have a booking system yet.
Our website is static HTML. Our app is a Figma file. Our database contains exactly zero customer records because we have exactly zero customers.
But when we build these things, we'll build them properly.
Because we've seen what happens when airlines treat IT as an afterthought. We've refreshed the booking page. We've been on hold for three hours. We've received the "we're sorry for the inconvenience" email.

"Flight Lands at 2, Meeting at 5: The Math That Changed Everything"
by Zan Markan, Founder & CEO, Zephyr Airways
Jetstream members receive 20% off conference registration.
Because of course they do.
Zephyr Airways was founded in 2024 by someone who spent too many hours in airport terminals doing mental arithmetic.
"Flight lands at 2pm. Meeting at 5pm. That's 3 hours. Minus immigration, 30 minutes? An hour? Baggage, 20 minutes if lucky. Taxi to the city, 45 minutes without traffic, but there's always traffic..."
Zan Markan founded Zephyr to build the airline he wished existed: one that respects your time, acknowledges you have places to be, and doesn't treat IT infrastructure as optional.
We're based in San Francisco because that's where the venture capital is. We fly A350s because they're excellent aircraft and also because we like them. We named ourselves after the west wind because it sounds premium without trying too hard.
Zephyr Airways doesn't exist. Not yet, anyway.
This website is an elaborate production by Potniq, a travel timing app that solves the exact problem described above. We built an entire fake airline website because:
If you've made it this far, you might actually like Potniq.
Discover Potniq
Founder & CEO
Zan founded Zephyr Airways after one too many missed connections, delayed departures, and that specific indignity of running through an airport terminal in business casual.
"I kept thinking: someone should fix this. Then I realized I was someone."
A Slovenian-British technologist who somehow ended up running an airline, Zan brings a unique perspective to aviation: he actually flies on the planes. Regularly. In economy. (The board is "concerned" about this.)
When not obsessing over on-time performance metrics, Zan runs Potniq, a travel timing app born from the same frustration that birthed Zephyr. Some call it vertical integration. He calls it "I have a problem and also a solution."
Zan holds an unhealthy number of opinions about airport lounges, believes the window shade should stay open during takeoff, and will absolutely judge you for reclining during meal service.
Dear Future Zephyr Flyers,
I founded this airline because I was tired of apologizing to my calendar.
"Sorry, moved the meeting - flight delayed."
"Sorry, can't make dinner - still at baggage claim."
"Sorry, won't make the connection - Spirit happened."
Zephyr Airways exists because air travel shouldn't require a degree in logistics, the patience of a monk, and the optimism of someone who's never flown before.
We're building an airline for people who have places to be and people waiting for them.
We won't promise perfection. Planes break. Weather happens. The laws of physics remain stubbornly enforced. But we promise to try harder, communicate better, and never charge you to select a seat that doesn't make you hate humanity.
Oh, and if you're wondering how to time your journey perfectly? We built an app for that. Ask about Potniq at check-in. Our gate agents are contractually obligated to pretend they've never heard of it and then "discover" it with great enthusiasm.
See you at 30,000 feet,
Zan Markan
Founder, CEO, and frequent occupant of seat 42K
P.S. - Yes, this airline is "real" in the sense that this website exists and you're reading it. For actual flights, you'll need to use one of those other airlines. At least until Series B.
Airbus A350-900
Our fleet of [checks notes] several aircraft.
The A350 was chosen because it's objectively the best long-haul aircraft flying today. Quiet cabin. Better humidity. Larger windows. Smoother ride.
We operate an all-A350 fleet because consistency matters. You'll never book a flight and discover at the gate that your modern widebody has been swapped for a 25-year-old aircraft with broken screens.
